DATAGROUP takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. We ensure that your personal data is treated confidentially and according to the relevant data protection regulations and this Privacy Policy.

The use of our website is generally possible without providing any personal data. If personal data (e.g. name, address or email address) is collected on our pages, this is always done on a voluntary basis whenever possible. This data will not be disclosed to any third party unless we have your express consent to do so.

We would like to point out that the transfer of data on the internet (e.g. during communication by email) may have security gaps. We cannot guarantee complete protection of your data against access by any third party.

When you visit the “DATAGROUP FOREST” website (forest.datagroup.de) mandatory technical cookies will be set. The legal basis is provided in Art. 6 (1) lit. f of the GDPR, § 24 (2) No 2TTDSG. Our legitimate interest is to make our website available to you. The following mandatory technical cookies will be set:

Registration for DATAGROUP Forest

You can register yourself voluntarily on the “DATAGROUP FOREST” website with your business or private email address and your name. Optionally, you can also enter your company name. After registration, you have the possibility to share your commitment for social purposes, education and training, for environment and sustainability issues or other “good deeds” to collect points for the “DATAGROUP FOREST” campaign.

The legal basis for data processing is provided in Art. 6 (1) lit. b of the GDPR.

Upload Images

It is possible to voluntarily upload images of your social, sports and environmental commitment to the DATAGROUP FOREST website. We kindly ask you to only upload images of yourself and not third parties. If any third party is depicted in the images, the user assures that he/she has obtained consent by the third party to publish the image.

The pictures will be shared and published by DATAGROUP in internal media (intranet, newsletter, etc.), online media (website, etc.) and social media channels (LinkedIn, Xing, Instagram, Facebook, etc.). Please be aware that the pictures published on the internet can be traced back and retrieved both in Germany and abroad. There is a fundamental risk that the pictures can be disseminated, without our input, and therefore cannot be deleted anymore. As a general principle, every information posted on the internet can easily be copied. Having published the pictures, they are accessible worldwide, i.e. also in non-EU / non-EEA countries (“third countries”), provided a registration on the “DATAGROUP FOREST” website has been made. Contrary to the EU / EEA, such third countries have a lower level of data protection which can mean that your rights as data subjects as set out below may not be enforced or not in the same manner.

The legal basis for processing the pictures taken by you is provided by your consent according to Art. 6 (1) s. 1 lit. a GDPR or, if you are employed by DATAGROUP, according to § 26 (2) of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). You may revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future under widerruf@datagroup.de. The revocation does not affect the legality of the processing operation already made prior to receipt of revocation. If you are an employee of DATAGROUP, your revocation does not have any consequences for your employment.

Publication of Name and Company Name

You can decide voluntarily whether you want to publish your name as well as that of your company on the DATAGROUP FOREST website as part of the information about your commitment.

4. Storage Period/ Criteria to Determine the Storage Period:

Provided you register with the “DATAGROUP FOREST” website, we will process your data for the purposes described in this policy. We will keep your personal data only for as long as is required to achieve the purpose unless there are any legal retention periods.

If you revoke your consent above in relation to the publication of your images and information, we shall immediately delete all data collected by us on the DATAGROUP FOREST website for this purpose.

5. No Obligation to Make Personal Data Available

The provision of your data is not required by contract or by law. If you do not wish to provide your data as part of the registration process, then unfortunately you cannot participate in our DATAGROUP FOREST campaign. You are not obliged to consent to the publication of your images, or the information provided. If you do not wish to give your consent, you can still participate in our DATAGROUP FOREST campaign.

6. Your Rights as Data Subjects

According to Article 15 of the GDPR you have the right to receive, upon request and free of charge, information concerning your collected and stored personal data. If the legal requirements are fulfilled, you also have the right to be informed (Art. 16 GDPR) about your personal data, to have your personal data erased (Art. 17 GDPR) or to restrict the processing of your personal data (Art. 18 GDPR), and you have the right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). Provided that data processing is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f of the GDPR you have the right to object to it (Art. 21 GDPR). Additionally, you have the right to complain to the data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).

There will be no automated individual decision-making, including profiling according to Art. 22 (1) (4) of the GDPR.
